Blaupunkt CLASSIC 130 Cx 5.25″ (130mm) 2-Way Coaxial Speakers – 100W (Pair)

£99.17 exc VAT (£119.00 inc. VAT)

Period-correct looks with a modern sound. The Blaupunkt CLASSIC 130 Cx is a 5.25″ two-way coaxial pair finished in classic pure black, with metal design grilles you can badge with either a vintage or modern Blaupunkt logo. Neodymium magnets keep them shallow, so they slip into tight classic-car locations while delivering clear, detailed sound from 50W nominal / 100W maximum power handling.

Upgrading the sound in a classic car shouldn’t mean bolting in something that looks like it came out of a modern hatchback. The Blaupunkt CLASSIC 130 Cx is part of the new exPress CLASSIC range, designed to look right behind the grille of an older vehicle while giving you a genuine step up from tired original speakers.

Built for tight spaces

Each 5.25″ (130 mm) speaker combines a paper-cone woofer with a 13 mm Mylar dome tweeter mounted on the same axis, so you get full-range sound from a single cut-out. Neodymium magnets on both drivers keep the mounting depth to just 43.8 mm, and Kapton voice coils on the tweeter and woofer cope well with heat over long drives. A rubber surround and steel basket complete a durable, no-nonsense build.

Classic looks, your choice of badge

Finished in classic pure black, each speaker comes with a metal design grille and a choice of vintage or modern Blaupunkt logos, so you can match the period of your car or keep it contemporary.

Performance

  • 100W maximum / 50W nominal power handling
  • 4 Ω impedance – works with standard head units and amplifiers
  • Frequency response 70 – 20,000 Hz
  • 90 dB sensitivity (2.83 V / 1 m) for good volume from head-unit power
  • Gold-plated connectors

Fitting

5.25-inch is a popular size for door cards and rear parcel shelves in many classic and retro cars, and the slim 43.8 mm mounting depth helps in shallow doors. You’ll need a cut-out of 114 mm / 4.49″, and a cutting template is printed on the box. Everything else is included – 3 m speaker cables, screws, pirate nuts and adhesive pads – so you can fit them straight away. Always check the mounting depth and cut-out size against your vehicle before ordering.

Will these fit my classic car?

The CLASSIC 130 Cx needs a 114 mm / 4.49" cut-out and 43.8 mm / 1.72" of mounting depth. Many classic and retro cars use 5.25" speaker locations, but fitments vary, so measure your existing opening and the space behind it before ordering. A cutting template is printed on the box if you need to cut a new opening.

Can I run them from my head unit without an amplifier?

Yes. With 90 dB sensitivity and a 4 Ω impedance they work well with the built-in amplifier of a standard head unit. They will also handle an external amplifier up to 50W nominal per speaker.

What is the difference between the vintage and modern logos?

Both badges are supplied in the box. The vintage logo suits older vehicles and period-style interiors, while the modern logo gives a cleaner, contemporary look. Simply fit whichever you prefer to the metal grille.

What is a coaxial speaker?

A coaxial speaker has the tweeter mounted in front of the woofer on the same axis, so you get full-range sound from a single speaker and a single cut-out. It is the simplest way to upgrade original speakers without extra holes or wiring.

Are other sizes available?

Yes. The exPress CLASSIC coaxial range also includes the CLASSIC 100 Cx and CLASSIC 165 Cx, and component sets are available in 130 mm and 165 mm.

What comes in the box?

A pair of speakers with metal design grilles, vintage and modern logos, 3 m speaker cables, fixing screws, pirate nuts, adhesive pads and a user manual.
